Whether you are visiting London for a weekend break, passionate about food, or just fancy trying something different, why not make a change from dining out and out on your apron for the day instead at a foodie masterclass!
London is home to a whole host of masterclasses for all levels of experience, so give your taste buds a treat whilst you learn some new skills at one of these fantastic foodie masterclasses:
Tea and Scones
Fish Dishes
Lovers of seafood will not want to miss the Fish Masterclass by Food at 52. During this five-hour session, you will learn everything from how to prepare and handle fish, to how to cook a variety of dishes like the pros. Sessions cost £160 per person and include an introduction with tea and coffee, and a seafood feast to end the day. Located just a 10-minute walk from Old Street Station; visit Food at 52 to find out more.
Butchery Masterclass
The skills of an experienced butcher are second to none, so where better to learn the art of butchery than at Barbecoa – the UK’s first barbecue steakhouse. Located next to St Paul’s Cathedral, their knowledgeable team will educate you on everything from preparation to cooking in this hands-on session. Sessions run for two hours and start from £125 per person. Masterclasses involve pork, beef, chicken or lamb, and there’s the added bonus of taking your cuts away to enjoy at home afterwards! Make sure you check out Barbecoa on Facebook and Twitter.
All Things Chocolate
Not all food masterclasses have to be savoury. If you fancy getting stuck into something a bit sweeter then enrol yourself into the Chocolate School at Rococo. Situated just a 10-minute walk from Knightsbridge station, they host a wide variety of chocolate based masterclasses. Take part in truffle rolling, tempering chocolate, or a one-to-one advanced course with their head chocolatier.
A Taste of India
Suitable for all levels of experience, The Cinnamon Kitchen hosts exclusive Indian. Cookery Masterclasses with their Executive Chef Vivek Singh. Located just around the corner from Liverpool Street Station, these unique sessions change each month and include street food, vegetarian and South Indian cuisine. Priced at £200, masterclasses run from 9:30am until 3:30pm and include lunch.
