Royal Box at Ascot 2010
Summer is well and truly here and that brings with it a multitude of formal events – from summer garden parties to weddings, and of course prestigious sporting events. I am not sporty at all, but I am quite partial to a summer sporting event as I just love the whole atmosphere of it all. The food, the afternoon cream tea, the bubbles and of course the socialising whilst the event unfolds in the summer sunshine. I was sad to miss Wimbledon this year, that would be my dream event to go to, one day, with a glass of Pimms in hand.
I was excited when Barbour got in touch and asked me to style my own outfit for a prestigious summer sporting event and also to share their fantastic Summer Sport Events Calendar – an interactive clever little gadget, that not only shows you whats on in the sporting world, but gives both menswear and womenswear fashion advice for each event too. Pretty handy, right?
So, here is my outfit:
I opted for a smart crisp white shirt, monochrome patterned trousers and brogues. It’s tempting to wear heels but sporting events are notoriously long days and you’ll be on your feet a lot so chose footwear with caution! As we are in Britain, I’m ready for all weathers – a light trench in case it gets chilly or rains and sunglasses if it’s bright. Sorted!
What would you wear to go to an event this year? Give the calendar below a go and let me know your choices!
