Happy Valentines Day everyone! I hope you all are doing something lovely, whether you celebrate Valentines Day or not. Personally, we normally have a very low-key day. I fully support the idea that it’s just a day for card/gift shops to cash in and if I want to show my love, I can do that any day – not just 14th February. However, this year a package from Hartley’s Jam arrived on my doorstep, just in time for the big day. In the box was a heart-shaped egg mould, a LOVE toast stamp, a heat-changing heart mug and a jar of Hartleys Strawberry Jam, just what I need to make Vee the perfect breakfast in bed. So, after saying we wouldn’t do anything – the lucky minx had me up early in the the kitchen, cooking up a culinary feast, with a very cutesy, heart-shaped theme!
I have to say I am not the perfect chef, my hearts were less than perfect and the toast stamp took a few goes before you could see the pattern. But it’s the thought that counts, and Vee loved her surprise breakfast in bed. I even made a heart-shaped egg and toast for Robbie – he’s such a spoilt pup! After our eggs, we all sat in bed scoffing even more toast, smothered in Hartleys Strawberry jam and having the most restful morning. Perfect! Maybe I do like Valentines Day a little bit 🙂
Have a fantastic day, whatever you are up to! Remember, it’s not all about the cards and the presents, it’s about showing the ones you love how much you care in your own special way, and even if your eggs aren’t perfect and the toast is burnt, it really is the thought that counts.
What are you up to today?
