BRIGHTON: Boux Avenue Launch & Bra Fitting

I’m always excited when I hear of a new store opening in town, especially if it’s a lingerie store! There seems to be so many new shops opening in Brighton, which is nice as Churchill Square was starting to become a little dull. One of the most exciting additions to the shopping centre is the brand new Boux Avenue. A brand new, gorgeous lingerie brand with stores popping up all over the country. Luckily Brighton were next on the list and their elegant new store opened last Saturday. They aim to provide quality lingerie, nightwear and swimwear at affordable prices and offer amazingly personal VIP service to every customer.
After an early morning coffee and a pastry, myself and Brighton bloggers Lauren, Laura, Rosie and Gabriela popped down to the opening of Boux Avenue to have a little nosey as to what they have in store for us before the big opening. We were able to get a quick browse around the store with a glass of bubbly, before owner and creator Theo Paphitis arrived to formally cut the ribbon to the store. The store is clean, minimalistic white, with the underwear laid out neatly with drawers for all the sizes. This makes finding what you are looking for so easy. The store smells gorgeous and is a delight to browse, within just five minutes I’d already spotted so many things I wanted to buy. After the official ribbon cutting, there was then an eager stampede of women into the store to view the brand new range so we made our exit and I popped back the following week for my VIP service bra fitting once the store had calmed a little!
The following weekend I popped back in for my fitting. I’ve only had one bra fitting before and if I’m honest think the whole thing is normally quite awkward and embarrassing, however the staff at Boux are so lovely, they really put you at ease. Martha greeted me, explained how fittings worked and showed me to my own personal little fitting room. The rooms remind me of a lift in a posh hotel, with an intercom ‘concierge’ service, 3 different lighting settings, a huge mirror and plenty of space to put your bags and clothes. The rooms are also quite big which means there’s a bit more space once there are two of you in the room.
To start with Martha did my fitting (and also told me I’ve been wearing the wrong side bra for most of my adult life, cringe) then we discussed different styles I liked and wanted to try. She whizzed back into the store (numerous times) collecting all of the bras I liked, plus selecting a few she thought I might like to try, which was a really nice touch as I was able to try on styles I might not have picked up myself. I loved how all the bras have girls names, each bra was introduced to me as if it were a person “This is Chantal, she is a satin balconette” which just adds another personal touch. It turns out the styles I had chosen didn’t suit me as well as some of her choices! Martha was able to recommend something a lot more flattering and comfortable for my shape, which is a true professional service.

I came in for one set of underwear but left with two sets and some scented pouches, all gift wrapped in pink tissue with rose petals and candy. Plus, I’ve already put together a list of about 15 different items I want to pick up in the future! I’m absolutely in love with their sleepwear range, which is next on my list as the weather cools down. I’ve learnt so much about why having a bra fitted properly is so important and realised my bra size was completely wrong. I also would highly recommend the Boux Bra fitting service as I felt so at ease. My new underwear fits perfectly and feels high quality and luxurious.
Thank you to Boux Avenue for having me at the launch, I’ll be popping in again soon for sure!

One set of underwear was kindly gifted to me, however all views and opinions are my own
